Kids learn how to be self-sufficient in managing their diabetes during school and while with friends.
EPDA’s kids summer camp is a great way for children with diabetes to make new friends who are just like them.
Planned camp activities
For five full days, counselors and instructors offer a fun environment where kids learn to:
- Navigate school lunch, eating out, and birthday parties
- Check their own blood sugar
- Administer their own insulin
- Make new friends
We want your child’s school experience to be as normal as possible, and the more they can care for themselves, the happier they will be.
We invite every child in the El Paso area who has diabetes or is at risk for diabetes to sign-up and take part in this fun week-long event.
Date and time:
June 22 through 26, 2015
8:00am until 4:00pm
Camp Lydia Mann
Our suggested cost to attend is $100 per child. The cost covers on-staff nurses, food, transportation and fun activities for the kids.
EPDA offers scholarship support to enable all children to attend and we feel very strongly that every child with diabetes should attend our Kid’s Camp regardless of their ability to pay.
If you know of any diabetic or pre-diabetic children in the El Paso area who cannot afford to pay for camp, please have them call (915) 532-6280 or write us here.
